Responsible for providing accounting support to
accounting supervisors and other managers within the department. Performs a
range of general analytical, accounting and program control/billing support
functions for the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Work scope may
include any/all of the following duties:


  • Review
    and monitor work of junior level accounting analysts providing payroll support
  • Prepare
    hour reports and leave reports for managers
  • Prepare
    the pay sheet file for submission to Home Office to support payroll processing
  • Provide
    assistance to employees regarding their timesheet or paycheck
  • Maintain/reconcile
    employee leave bank
  • Organize
    and file all payroll forms and reports as requested by the Home Office

Payable General Accounting, and Travel:

  • Match,
    audit and process purchase order invoices for payment
  • Respond
    to vendor inquiries
  • Coordinate
    and process monthly reconciliations as assigned
  • Maintain
    various spreadsheets and reports
  • Complete
    detailed reconciliations, including revenue
  • Assist
    in Sarbanes Oxley Audits
  • Assist
    in DCMA requests
  • Assist
    in DCAA Audit requests
  • Establish
    new contracts and supporting reports for billings
  • Maintain
    billing files, PLC s and employee workforce on assigned contracts
  • Process
    and post assigned billings

Education and Experience:

Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or
Business Management and 4 years of basic accounting; 2 of the 4 years should be in government
contracting; or any combination of education and experience totaling 8 years.

Knowledge, skills & abilities required:

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel
    and Microsoft Word
  • Ability and willingness to learn new software and
    increase accounting knowledge and expertise, JAMIS experience a plus
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a
  • Good organizational skills; ability to prioritize work
    load and work with minimum supervision
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Ability to maintain the strictest confidence of
    company private information and data
  • Essential Requirements:

Physical requirements Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks and laptops.

Work Environment Cubicle environment is in a secure site.

Attendance - Must be able to work within the shift hours of 6 a. m. and 6 p. m.

With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines.

Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.

Other Essential Functions:

Must pass drug testing.

Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
